Tesco, ASDA, mySupermarket . . Confused?
Tesco and Asda have gotten into a bitch fight recently with so many TV ads with mysupermarket.co.uk it’s become very confusing if you ask me. However, I do my research and I found out that Tesco are reasonably cheaper than Asda. What I’m saying is not because Tescos is around the corner or because my aunty offered me jobs at tesco. I like pasta, because I buy pasta almost on a daily basis I thought I’d do some experimenting.
I popped into Asda first, it cost me 90p on a oyster to get there. After getting there I realized it took my 25 minutes on the bus. Quite a long time actually to buy pasta. Anyway, I was expecting some good offers at Asda. Well I found some excellent offers. I found asda’s own brand pasta sauce for 26p! It couldn’t get any better, so I bagged about 6 jars of it.
Excited all the way home, “why didn’t I think of going to Asda before”. Well, I started cooking my pasta and mixing the sauce with some peppers and mushrooms I had. After my pasta had boiled I happily mixed it all up, trust me it looked very tasty. I couldn’t wait to dig in.
I switched on Fresh Prince of Bel Air on Bravo and served myself the pasta I looked forward to.
Woah, woah what’s the sweet this I’m tasting. Well, it certainly wasn’t my pasta, it was the cheap sauce. I couldn’t stand another taste of it. Disgusting!
Overall I guess it’s about personal experiences and Asda’s pasta sauce sure was a memorable one!
I’m back to my original 24 hours Tesco. It’s only a few minutes walk and the sauce is only a few pennies more, but trust me it’s worth it. Big corporations tend to come across cheaper and their foods are, yes, bloody cheap!
If you want crap food go to Asda, on the other hand if you desire quality in food then Tesco is another option!
