What Coffee Do You Prefer in the Morning?
I always start my journey to work by grabbing a coffee first. I’ve used them all to be honest, from Starbuckss to Pret. However I appreciate my coffee in the mornings and after a lot of experimenting I came to the conclusion that Starbucks Cappuccino is the works. Their cappucino is priced slightly higher than Pret’s, but the fluffy creamy milk over powers it everyday!
I’m not a big fan of lattes or expressos, a cappuccino does me well. Oh, if your in London avoid the small fancy cafes. They are over priced, their coffee beans are not fresh, the cup is too small, overall the coffee is pretty crap. Stick to one of the coffee shop chains and you won’t be disappointed. However splashing out £2 every morning for coffee is quite expensive and i’ve done the maths, overall I think you could save some money too.
Here’s my Einstein formula on saving some cash.
£2 coffee x 1 day = £2 a day
£2 x 5 days a week = £10 a week
£10 x 4 weeks = £40 a month
£40 x 12 months = £480 a year for drinking coffee in the morning.
Now this is just an overall estimated calculation, here’s is the reality of how much we spend on coffee. Take my scenario for example. I drink coffee twice a day, once in the morning and once after lunch around 3ish. I buy from starbucks and 1 coffee costs me £2.25. Here’s some figures that are really going to shock you now!
£2.25 x 2 a day = £4.50 a Day
£4.50 x 5 days = £22.50 a week
£22.50 x 4 weeks = £90 a month
£90 x 12 months = £1080 a year on coffee.
Woah! £1080 a year on coffee! Jesus, that’s some serious money. Now, I’ve worked with people in London who drink around 3 -4 coffee’s a day easily and some times even more. These people are probably spending around £1500 - £3000 a year on coffee alone. If you want to cut back on saving money try cutting out some coffee and eat an apple instead, it’s a scientific fact that an apple is equivalent to a coffee in the morning. Hope I ain’t put you off!
